The Voice of Kannadiga is an independent Kannada-first news and commentary publication covering Karnataka, India and world affairs that matter to Kannadigas. This page explains the standards we follow. ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಪಾದಕೀಯ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಪುಟ ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
Ownership and independence
The Voice of Kannadiga is independently owned and published from Hubballi, Karnataka. It is not affiliated with any political party, government body or corporate group. Editorial decisions are made by the publication’s editorial team and are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors or outside interests.
Accuracy and sourcing
- We aim to base reports on verifiable facts: official documents and statements, court records, public data, on-the-record interviews and credible published reporting.
- Where we rely on another publication’s reporting, we credit and link to it. Many of our articles list their sources at the end.
- We distinguish between confirmed facts, allegations and questions that remain unanswered. Allegations are described as allegations.
- We seek a response from people or organisations who are the subject of serious allegations wherever practical.
News, analysis and opinion
Much of our work is analysis and commentary on public affairs. Opinion and analysis pieces reflect the view of the writer and are based on facts we believe to be accurate. We try to make clear when an article is argument or opinion rather than straight news reporting.
Fairness and harm
- We do not publish content intended to promote hatred or violence against any community.
- We take care when reporting on crime, courts, victims, minors and people in vulnerable situations, and we respect the presumption of innocence.
- We do not knowingly publish misinformation. When a claim circulating online is false or unverified, we say so.
Research and writing
Every article on The Voice of Kannadiga is researched, written and edited by our editorial team, who take full responsibility for its accuracy, fairness and content. Nothing is published without editorial review.
Advertising and sponsored content
Advertising is kept separate from editorial content. Any sponsored or paid content will be clearly labelled as such.
